The best swim time tracking apps for 2026
Full disclosure up front: we make SwimTrack, one of the apps below. We've kept this guide honest anyway — every claim comes from each product's public website or app-store listing, and we say plainly where a rival is the better fit.
Four things separate a good swim time tracker from a frustrating one: official results that fill in automatically, deep standards coverage (not just national cuts), a price you can see before you download, and whether it goes beyond record-keeping to help plan the next race.
The season-long trackers
SwimTrack
That's usweb · iOS · AndroidBuilt around one question: how close is the next cut? Official results auto-populate; green/red standards comparisons cover national cuts down to LSC championships and motivational standards, with high-school standards in beta. Power Index ranks swimmers live across club, LSC, and zone, and Pacer — unique in this category — turns a goal time into a split-by-split race plan modeled on thousands of real swims. Free to track one swimmer and follow two; SwimTrack+ is $19.99/year, published on the pricing page.
Swimmetry
iOSThe veteran of the category — years on the App Store, with goal and standards tracking, analytics, AI-powered insights, head-to-head comparisons, and shareable PDF reports. Free download with in-app purchases; pricing isn't published on the web. No web app that we could find. Full comparison: SwimTrack vs Swimmetry.
Swimlytics
iOSA newer, analysis-first take: auto-populated results, best times, meet history, standards, power points, and IMR/IMX comparison tools for swimmers, parents, and coaches. Free download; no pricing published on its site. Full comparison: SwimTrack vs Swimlytics.
Different jobs, different apps
Meet Mobile
meet dayThe standard for live results during a meet — heat sheets, psych sheets, and results as they post. It's not a season tracker: no standards comparisons or progress history. Most families run it alongside a tracker, not instead of one.
Fitness swim apps (MySwimPro and others)
trainingWorkout apps track yardage, stroke rate, and training plans — valuable, but a different problem. They don't follow official meet results or qualifying standards. If you're chasing USA Swimming or high-school cuts, you want a time tracker, not a lap counter.
Frequently asked questions
What's the best app for tracking competitive swim times?
It depends on the job. For following a swimmer's times all season and seeing how close they are to qualifying cuts, SwimTrack (ours), Swimmetry, and Swimlytics are the main contenders — SwimTrack is the one with published pricing ($19.99/yr), web + iOS + Android apps, and Pacer race planning. For live results during a meet, Meet Mobile is the standard.
Can't I just use Meet Mobile?
Meet Mobile is great on meet day — heat sheets, psych sheets, and live results as they happen. But it isn't built for the season-long picture: personal-best history across meets, standards comparisons, and progress charts. Most swim families end up using Meet Mobile during the meet and a tracker like SwimTrack for everything between meets.
Are fitness swim apps like MySwimPro the same thing?
No — they solve a different problem. Fitness apps track workouts: yardage, stroke rate, training plans. Time trackers follow official meet results and compare them against USA Swimming and high-school qualifying standards. If the question is 'how close is the next cut?', a workout app can't answer it.
Do these apps require entering times by hand?
The current generation mostly doesn't. SwimTrack and Swimlytics both auto-populate official meet results as they're published. SwimTrack also allows manual entry for anything outside the official feeds, like high-school dual meets.
